 Navratri is   Navratri Sanskrit , Hindi , Marathi and Nepali : नवरात्रि, Bengali : নবরাত্রি, Kannada : ನವರಾತ್ರಿ, Telugu  : దుర్గా నవరాత్రులు, Malayalam : നവരാത്രി, Tamil : நவராத்திரி) A Hindu is to be worshiped in spirit and dance festival. Navaratri in Sanskrit and Gujarati 9 ie 9 and night means that it literally means nine nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti / Devi are worshiped.

Significance :

         In the climate, two major conjunctions like spring and autumn begin and the influence of the sun remains. These two periods are considered as a sacred opportunity for the worship of Mother Goddess. According to the moon-based calendar, the festive dates are determined. Navaratri is a symbol of the festival of Durga, which expresses the goddess power (energy). Dasera means that 'ten days' is the day after Navratri. This festival of Navaratri festival or nine nights has now become a festival of ten days by joining its last day, which is called Vijayadashmi, the last day of this festival, in these ten days, the enthusiasm of the mother Mahishasur-Mardini (Durga) varied and worshiped with devotion is coming.

              Navaratri is celebrated four times a year. Whose name is Vasanta Navaratri, Ashad Navaratri, Sharad Navaratri and Pushya Navaratri. Sharad Navaratri is celebrated in this month, and Vasant Navaratri is celebrated in the spring period which is considered very important.

1. Chaitri (Spring) Navaratri: It is a festival devoted to nine days in the form of nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess). This festival is celebrated in the spring (March-April). It is also known as Chaitra Navaratri. This nine day festival is also known as Ram Navaratri.

2. Gupta (Ashad) Navaratri: Gupta Navaratri, also known as Ashadh or Gayatri or Shakambari Navaratri, is celebrated in the month of Ashad (June-July) by dedicating nine forms of Shakti (Mother goddess) to nine days. Gupta Navaratri is followed during Ashdha Shukla Party (Ashadha Sudhaya).

3. Sharad (Aso) Navaratri: This is very important Navratri. It is commonly called Maha Navaratri and it is celebrated in eight months. It is also called Sharad Navaratri, because it is celebrated in the autumn of Ashwin Shukla party (Asso, Sudhaya).

4. Pushy (Posh) Navaratri: Puja Navaratri Posh (December-January) nine forms of Shakti (Mother Goddesses) have been dedicated in nine days. Pujya Navaratri is celebrated during Posh Shukla Party (Posh Sud-Ajay).

4 (optional). Magh Navaratri: Maag Navaratri is also called Gupta Navaratri, in nine months of nine days of nine forms of Shakti dedicated to Maha (January-February). Magh Navaratri is performed during the Magha Shukla Party (Maha Sud-Ajay).

Vasant Navratri :


      The festival is celebrated during the spring season (summer season) (March-April). It is also called Chaitra or Chaitri Navaratri, because this festival is celebrated in the month of Chaitra.


There is an original story behind Vasanta Navaratri:-



           A long time ago, when King Dhruv Singh went hunting in the forest, a lion killed him. Preparations were made for the coronation of Rajkumar Sudarshan. Queen Lilavati's father, UjjainRaja Warajit and Rani Manorama's father, King Kalinga, were keen to keep Kosla safe for their grandson. They fought with each other. King Warisan died in this war. Manorama escaped in the forest with Prince Sudarshan and an imposter. They took refuge in Rishi Bhardwaj's ashram. In the capital of Kaushal, Ayodhya was crowned the grandson of the king of warjita, Shatrujit. Then she went out in search of Manorama and her son. Rishi said that he would not give those who sought their protection. This is a war of anger. He wanted to attack the sage, but his minister told the truth about the rishi's statement. Warjeet returns to its capital.
          Rajkumar Sudarshan has become part of the destiny. One day the son of a hermit came and called Napunsak in the name of his Sanskrit name, Kaliba. The prince started holding his first word kali and pronouncing it as his clim . The word was a powerful, holy mantra. It is the seed character of Deviata (original word). By repeatedly pronouncing the word, he received the grace of Goddess and peace of mind. The Goddess appeared in front of him, and he gave Sudarshan a holy weapon and an Akshaya bhista with Arisma. When the Prince of Varanasi passing through the Rishna Ashram , when he saw the gentleman Prince Sudarshan, he recommended this prince to the son of Varanasi's king Shashikala.
The Princess is preparing for the Swayamwar. When Shashikala selected Sudarshan. At the time, they got married. King Yudhajit, who was present at the ceremony, started a war with the king of Varanasi. Goddess helped Sudarshan and her husband. Warje jested her, due to which the goddess turned the warhead and her army into ashes at the same moment. So Sudarshan praised the Goddess with his wife and father-in-law and the Goddess was very happy and asked these people to worship them with the other purpose and Havan at the end of the fifth year. Then he disappeared. Rajkumar Sudarshan and Shashikala returned to Rishi Bhardwaj's ashram. The great Rishi blessed him and crowned Sudarshan as the king of Kausal. Sudarshan and Shashikala and the king of Varanasi, according to the order of the goddess Mother Sarvatha, worshiped the Goddess in a grand manner during the time of Vasant Navaratri. The descendants of Sudarshan,

       Navaratri is celebrated in different ways in India . In Gujarat , there is a special celebration of Sharad Navaratri and Chaitri Navaratri, as the Sharad Navaratri festival, when Chaitri Navaratri is more popular for vowarpad. This festival is celebrated with nine days of fasting and worship of various forms of Goddess Mother in all three Navarathas in northern India. Chaitra Navaratri ends with Ramnavmi and Sharad Navaratri ends with Durga Puja and Dussera. Dussehra is very popular in the north, especially in Himachal Pradesh .
     In the eastern India, the last four days of Sharad Navaratri are celebrated in the state of West Bengal , which is called Durga Puja. In this state, the festival is called the biggest festival of the year. Statues of beautiful carved and decked man-made idols of Durga Devi, in which statues shown to be killed in the monster demon are arranged in temples and other places. These idols are worshiped for five days and are given to water on the fifth day. Navaratri is celebrated in Western India, especially in the state of Gujarat , by popular folk dance of Garba and Dandiya Ras. People from all over Gujarat and abroad also come to participate in these nine days of festivals. It is popular all over the country and in the UK and USA as well as in Indian communities around the world.

First three days :-

           Ramlila is officially performed during Dusshera to celebrate the victory of Ram on the day of Vijayadashmi in northern India , at the end of which the statue of Ravana , Kumbhakarna and Meghnad is burnt.
          During Navratri some devotees of Durga pray fast and pray so that their health and prosperity can be protected from the Goddess. This time there is introspection and sanctity, traditionally this time of Navratri is a demanding and religious time to do any new work.
        At this time religious vows are placed in a pudding house (called Garbhi in Gujarati), in the holy place of the house, which is also called instability. For the next nine days the lamp is kept in the purge. This pot is expressed as a symbol of the world. Ankhad lamp is a medium through which we worship brilliant devotion, namely, Shri Durgadevi. At Navaratri, the principle of Shri Durgadevi is very active in the atmosphere.
    Navaratri is celebrated in large numbers in Indian society. Goddess Mother has been published in 9 forms and has been asked to worship one form for one day. Nine forms of Goddess have importantly influenced us with various features. Goddess Mahatmya and other writers addressed in the monsters who were subdued by demons are criticized.
            On the eighth or ninth day of the bride worship, virgins are worshiped.
